Equipment

  • Blender (preferably high-powered for smoother consistency)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh or frozen strawberries
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 cup fresh spinach leaves
  • 1 cup almond milk or any milk of your choice
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup for sweetness
  • Optional: Ice cubes if using fresh strawberries

Instructions

Prepare the Ingredients:

  • If you're using fresh strawberries, wash them and remove the stems. If they're frozen, there's no need to thaw them.
  • Peel the banana and break it into chunks.
  • Wash the spinach leaves thoroughly.

Blend:

  • In a blender, add the spinach leaves and almond milk first. This helps in blending the spinach more effectively.
  • Add the strawberries, banana, and honey or maple syrup (if using).
  • Blend on high speed until all the ingredients are well combined and the smoothie has a smooth, creamy texture. If the smoothie is too thick, you can add a bit more milk to adjust the consistency.

Serve:

  • Pour the smoothie into glasses. If you didn't use frozen strawberries and prefer a colder drink, you can add a few ice cubes to the glasses.
  • Optionally, garnish with a strawberry or a small spinach leaf on top for a decorative touch.

Enjoy:

  • Drink immediately for the best flavor and nutrient retention.

Notes

  • If using frozen strawberries, there's no need to add ice.
  • For a vegan version, ensure the use of plant-based milk and a vegan sweetener.
  • The smoothie is best enjoyed immediately but can be stored in the fridge for up to 24 hours.
